Zorz Sarri
Zorz Sarri (1925-2012) was one of the most beloved and acclaimed authors of children's and young adult literature in Greece. She was born in Athens and spent part of her life in Paris, where she studied theater and worked as an actress. Her writing career began in 1969 with the iconic novel "The Treasure of Vagia", which remains one of the most timeless works of Greek literature.
Sarri's books are distinguished by their vivid language, relatable characters, and her ability to address significant social and historical issues through the perspective of children and adolescents. Among her most notable works are "The Lie", "The Birthday", "The Victors", and "My Friend Nikos".
She received numerous awards and honors for her contributions to literature, and her books continue to be read by generations of children and taught in schools. Her writing reflects her love for life, freedom, and humanity.
